Julian walked along the pier looking out over the water. His heart and mind were always on Eve. He scanned the docks to see if he could see Eve anywhere. He spotted a woman that looked like Eve and eagerly hurried over to her.
He quietly approached her from behind and snuck right up behind her and blew softly into her ear.
The woman turned and shrieked, batting Julian with her purse. "You pervert!" She screamed. "A woman can't even be safe in her own neighbourhood without some sicko trying to make moves on her."
Julian turned pale as he fumbled for an apology. "I am so sorry, ma'am, I thought you were someone else."
"Likely story. I should file a complaint." She threatened.
"No," Julian almost shouted. "It was an honest mistake, really."
She dug around in her purse.
Julian asked, "What are you doing?"
"Calling the cops, that's what I am doing."
"But, I am Julian Crane, you can't call the cops on me." He said.
"Julian Crane. The Julian Crane?" She asked as she lowered her phone.
"Yes," Julian smiled in relief.
"You bastard!" She shrieked as she swung her purse at him again. "You seduced my friend and then dumped her like a hot potato."
"What? What friend? I don't know what you are talking about." Julian tried to protect himself as she battered him with her purse.
"About a year ago, you pig, you seduced her and never called her again."
"A year ago?" Julian shouted, "How am I supposed to remember what I did a year ago?" He backed away from her.
"That's right, run, you coward, get out of here before I beat your sorry ass to a pulp."
Julian straightened his coat and rushed off. 'What an insane woman.' He thought. 'What has this world come to?' He looked back once more as the woman shook her fist at him and then decided to try another place instead.
